China opened the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link in Guangdong Province, South China, with trial operations scheduled to commence at 3 p.m on June 30th, 2024.

The 24-kilometer passage starts at the Shenzhen airport interchange and connects with Ma'anshan Island in Zhongshan across the Pearl River. It cuts travel between Zhongshan and Shenzhen from two hours to approximately 30 minutes.

The megaproject consists of one underwater tunnel, two bridges and two artificial islands, making it one of the most difficult cross-sea cluster projects in the world.

After the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, Jiangmen`s location advantage will usher in a historic breakthrough and significant improvement. Jiangmen citizens can reach to Hong Kong, Macao, and Shenzhen by car within one hour.

At the same time, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link connects Qianhai, Hengqin and Nansha ports, which truly achieves quick and convenient transportation exchange in the Great Bay Area in Guangdong Province.

The Fast Route from Shenzhen to Jiangmen

In the past, Shenzhen citizens would usually pass through the Nansha Bridge or Humen Bridge to reach Jianegmen, which would cost half past two hours. Nowadays, with the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, people in Shenzhen can reach to Jiangmen city within 35 minutes, and the whole distance is just 68 kilomaters.

More Convenient Route from Hongkong to Jiangmen

After the opening of Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, lots of Hong Kong citizens jointly experienced the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link on July 1st, 2024. They started from Hong Kong, passed through the Shenzhen Bay port and the Shenzhen-zhongshan Link, and finally arrived in Jiangmen. Compared to the previous routes from Shenzhen to Jiangmen, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link promoted the whole journey to save 45 minutes.
